The art team utilizes a 3 step process for creating in-game assets
The steps of the process are as follows:
Concept Art > Final Art/Building Asset > Final Asset
In order for an idea/concept to move from one step to the next, the art team uses a specific kind of meeting called an Art Jury
.
See the art jury card for more details:
The art team should always be working on multiple assets at once. That way there will be assets at different stages of the process, allowing for a variety of tasks to be created.
The game design teams comes up with the game, and then puts their ideas on the Miro board. The art team looks at this Miro board to see what needs to be made.

Concept art is all about trying new things. Testing the boundaries of our art style and sense of design, so that the final assets are cohesive but also identifiable from each other.
The key to this stage is to come up with a wide variety of designs for an asset. That way, the Art Jury has a lot of options to choose from when deciding how to move forward.
This step is usually done in 2D, but 3D is also acceptable.

The Final Art/Building Asset stage takes place after an Art Jury. At this point, a concept has been approved and 3D modelers will create models based off of the chosen concept art.
This stage is done only in 3D.
Another Art Jury is held to decide which model is best suited for the game and is most in line with the art direction.
This is the final stage of the process. A concept has been chosen, models have been made, a model was chosen to be the final asset.
Sometimes the model chosen from the previous stage will revisions. If it does, the art team will choose a single person to make those revisions.
Once revisions are made and agreed upon, the asset is finished and placed in the final assets category of the P1 Assets Discord Server. The art team then continues working on other assets.
